New perspective
Two nights ago I dreamt that I committed arson. I don’t always remember my dreams, but this particular one I was able to recall because I immediately told my partner about it. I was curious to know what it could have meant so I looked it up:
Dreaming of arson usually means you have hidden anger, a strong wish to end a bad situation, or a deep urge to start over.
It’s crazy how minds work. I still can’t wrap my head around the concept of dreams, like how do you even begin to study about them? I know there are brain scans involved, but what are their purpose, really?
I don’t know about hidden anger, but ending bad situations and wanting to start over definitely applies to me. In fact, it’s a recurring theme for the recent years in my life. Now that I’m older and my pre-fontal cortex is fully developed, the urge to improve for the better has never been so strong. I just constantly feel like there’s so much baggage I have carrying around: my old version of myself whom I don’t even want to be friends with. I can allow this to hold me back, or I can use this to encourage to continue working on being a better person.
I constantly feel like I want to start over. Maybe it’s linked with my perfectionist tendencies. When things start to go south, I immediately look for a “way out” and remove myself from that situation.
But maybe there’s another way to deal with difficult times. Maybe I just need to reframe and develop new perspectives.
My new specs! Crazy that I have been suffering using scratched, overcorrected lenses for the past 2 years! 🫠
